My conversation with champion swimmer Farida Osman
I’m excited to welcome Farida Osman as the first athlete on the show! She’s a 3-time Olympian, 3-time world bronze medalist and holds senior national records for butterfly, freestyle and backstroke events. These are all incredible achievements.
I think we can learn so much from athletes—from their dedication and commitment, to their fitness and how they handle the pressure. Farida told me how she’s been working on her mental fitness and realised it’s something she was missing in her amateur days. She’s already working to help build out the swimming ecosystem in Egypt and open up more opportunities for anyone who wants to pursue it as a career.
Farida is such a natural, positive person who is authentic and passionate about her sport. She’s a wonderful ambassador for swimming and an incredible role model for young sportspeople who can look to her and see that anything is possible.
On our bonus episode out for members next week, Farida tells me how she’s prepares for races and the power of meditation.
If you’ve enjoyed this episode, I’d love to hear from you. You can also leave us a comment on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or YouTube.
